In A Balance volgen we hoe docu-maker Yuko (Kumi Takeuchi) een plaatselijk incident van drie jaar geleden, waarbij de verboden liefde tussen een leraar en een studente uiteindelijk resulteerde in een dubbele zelfmoord, waarheidsgetrouw probeert in beeld te brengen. Wanneer Yuko echter een geheim uit haar eigen familiale omgeving ontdekt, ziet ze zich genoodzaakt om haar principes te herevalueren …
